Cleveland, Ohio (July 29, 2019) An AS13004 Webinar was announced today, to be held on Tuesday August 13, 2019 at 11AM EDT. Click here to register. AS13004 was created by the SAE G-22 Technical Committee to provide guidance on Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans and released in late 2017. This standard defines requirements for the identification, assessment, mitigation, and prevention of risk in the manufacturing process through the application of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans throughout the life cycle of a product. This standard aligns and collaborates with the requirements of AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, and AS9145.
Participants on the webinar will learn how a group of volunteers created an PFD and PFMEA and Control Plan application that is much, much better than spreadsheets, but not as complex as some of the other highly engineered PLM, ERP, and/or QMS software in the marketplace.
“This application was designed by volunteers that use spreadsheets every day – they clearly stated that the love spreadsheets and at the same time hate spreadsheets,” explains John M. Cachat, the Project Manager. “We need a solution that cannot break linkage between forms, accidentally delete rows and columns and lookups tables, but have the flexibility to modify forms and how the AS13004 process is managed.”
This webinar will explain how the project was organized and managed, and demo the software, and ask for feedback from participants as to whether it would be helpful to the AS13004 community.
