REFRION increasingly more competitive, thanks to its proprietary climate chamber

Realistic performance tests on units make it possible to finalize new important commissions across Europe
( | Press Release | 2018-04-09 12:38:43 )
REFRION, a young and dynamic Italian company specialized in the production of ventilated appliances for industrial use, continues its growth, thanks to important investments made in 2016, which involved the creation of the largest climate chamber in Europe for testing on dry coolers. This is confirmed by a recent commission awarded to the Company, which will install its Supejumbo units on the roofs of the new biomass power plant in Benkovac, Croatia. It will involve 13 top-performing dry coolers, capable of distributing 14 MW of power to cool the water in the turbine cooling circuit with maximum efficiency. All machines are equipped with axial fans and special filters that protect the finned pack of the appliance.
The realization of the climate chamber has been a strategic investment that, in 2017 alone, has already led to 2 important orders: the first one, worth hundreds of thousands of Euro, concerns the installation of adiabatic coolers at the headquarters of a famous Swiss watch brand; the other makes REFRION the third partner of an important player in the energy sector, as it pertains to the supply of dry coolers.
In Daniele Stolfo’s words, REFRION CEO: “We are very satisfied with these orders, important projects not only for their financial value, but, above all, because they confirm that being able to guarantee our customers precise tests on the units we provide is the winning key to gaining trust and references”.
With regard to the Benkovac order, we were able to recreate the exact customer-requested operating conditions within the climate chamber, and carry out performance tests the REFRION units pertaining to energy efficiency and noise pollution. An opportunity that Refrion is able to offer along with a few other players in its sector and that stands as a step forward compared to theEurovent certification, already guaranteed on the performance of the entire REFRION range.
The climate chamber is a real feather on the cap of
REFRION and confirms the Company’s commitment in terms of innovation and technological development. Since 2014, REFRION’s R&D field has been working in partnership with Advantech-Time, a spin-off of the University of Udine, operating in the field of engineering and virtual design for industry. Both teams are constantly engaged with one another, in particular, to define testing campaigns for tests to be carried out, not only as it pertains to climate chamber, but also for the development of new products. Advantech-Time engineers  closely work with REFRION also during the testing phases, integrating, if necessary, their own instruments for an accurate and timely data analysis.
And it is precisely thanks to this great research work that REFRION continues to maintain a high level of global competitiveness, being able to develop increasingly advanced solutions that can anticipate the needs of customers and meet all requirements in terms efficiency, quality and respect for the environment.
