Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) today announced that WWE® Superstar The Undertaker® will attend Wizard World
Comic Con Oklahoma City for a single-day appearance on Saturday, October 28 at the Cox Convention Center. He will greet fans, sign autographs and pose for photo opportunities from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. in Wizard World’s first visit to OKC.
For more than two decades, “The Deadman” has loomed over the WWE landscape like a menacing shadow, spelling out doom for those who dare cross him. Imbued with seemingly mystical abilities and preternatural in-ring ability, The Undertaker is a WWE great in a class by himself, and no list of legends would be complete without him.
First introduced at Survivor Series in 1990, it wasn’t long before he began to battle with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. This clash set the tone for Undertaker’s dominant career. No one was too big and no one was safe from his gloved grip.
The Undertaker joins a star-studded field of standout celebrities attending the pop culture extravaganza, headlined by Kate Beckinsale (Underworld, Van Helsing), Val Kilmer (Batman Forever, Top Gun), Jewel Staite (“Firefly,” “Stargate: Atlantis”), the Clerks and Mallrats duo of Jason Mewes and Brian O’Halloran, Ray Park (Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace, X-Men) and the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” foursome of James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Nicholas Brendon and Emma Caulfield.
While this marks the inaugural Wizard World
event in Oklahoma City, Wizard World
held three successful events in nearby Tulsa from 2014-2016. Undertaker was a guest at the Tulsa event in 2015.
Comic Con Oklahoma City will also feature non-stop live entertainment, gaming, exclusive Q&A sessions with top celebrities, movie screenings hosted by stars and directors and more, hosted by media personality Kato Kaelin. Details to follow soon.
Comic Con events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more. The 13th event scheduled on the 2017 Wizard World
calendar, Oklahoma City show hours are Friday, October 27, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, October 28, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, October 29, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Kids 10 and under are admitted free with paid adult.
Comic Con Oklahoma City is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event. Fans dressed as every imaginable character – and some never before dreamed – will roam the convention floor and participate in the famed Wizard World
Costume Contest on Saturday evening.
