Delphin Message Devices Monitor and Send Texts Alerts During Testing
The goal of product endurance testing is to subject manufactured products to real-world stress and ultimately to achieve service life certification. In these long-term applications, technicians require both data acquisition and control capabilities.
Delphin data loggers are ideal for multi-channel test applications, offering PC-independent systems based on hardware devices equipped with 16 GB internal memories. These systems also feature independently-operating control and regulating functions.
Data Security and Monitoring:
Delphin devices operate continuously and will restart automatically in the event of a power failure, providing users with uninterrupted data recording. This is especially useful for ensuring that there are no data gaps in lengthy testing applications.
Faults and system failures can be reported via email or switch outputs. An integrated scheduler within the Delphin DataService system enables additional data archiving to a PC or server. Users can then use the system’s ProfiSignal visualization software from any PC to evaluate archived data.
Product Test Application Features:
• Measurement, automation and analysis functions in a single device
• Multiple test stands can be operated independently of one another
• Date security through automated data reading of the device memory
• Automatic restart and secure data in the event of power failures
• Monitoring of test samples and email/test message notification upon fault events
Customer Example:
A major automotive supplier develops, tests and produces a variety of fans and cooling systems. To guarantee the service life of these products, test engineers carry out complex endurance tests. First the test samples are installed into climate chambers where they are then subjected to simulated daily and yearly cycles.
Their application relies on Delphin Message devices which function completely independently and also send text message alerts in the event of a sudden malfunction. More than 70 climate chambers are operated in parallel, and endurance testing of 2000 to 3000 hours is required. In addition to data acquisition and monitoring, the Delphin Message devices also generate setpoint profiles for the test samples.
All data is transmitted online and automatically saved to a server. Despite the huge volume of data, ProfiSignal is able to instantly portray the complete test period so that all outliers are immediately identifiable.
Typical endurance test applications:
• Environmental simulation for vehicle cooling systems
• Endurance testing of oven doors
• Service life testing for window winders
• Hob and hot plate testing
• Service life testing for fan motors
• Long-term stability measurements for solar modules
